We are happy to announce the 2022 Winter Enrichment Programs.  There are still a few spots remaining.

Once your spot is confirmed on the Sign-Up Genius, you will receive an email containing either a registration form or a registration link. If a paper form is required, please send in the registration form with payment in an envelope addressed "Enrichment.”

The remaining slots for the Winter Enrichment Programs are as follows:

• Art: Available to students in Grades 5-8 on eight Wednesdays (2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23) from 3pm-4pm. Moderated by Mrs. Trisch Lagana (Villa Walsh art teacher). Students will have fun focusing on the Elements of Art, creating a unique project each week in a variety of subjects and mediums. All supplies are provided. Cost is $150. Maximum 15 students
• Chess: Available to students in Grades Kindergarten -8^th on eight Tuesdays (2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29) from 3pm-4pm. Moderated by Diplomat Chess. Learn chess from experienced coaches. Students of all levels will learn new skills and have fun. Class time is divided between interactive group lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies and analysis of famous Grandmaster games. All chess equipment is provided by Diplomat Chess. Cost is $145.  Maximum 45 students.
• JavaScript Computer Coding: Available to students in Grades 5-8 on eight Tuesdays (2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29) from 3pm-4pm. Students must bring their own Chromebooks or laptops. This class reviews the definition of coding, why code, different types of code and their uses.  They will use JavaScript text-based coding language to build basic apps and learn basic programming concepts including coordinates, variables, and commands. Students will type and debug their own code. They will begin with short projects composed of 3 or 4 lines of code and progress to longer more difficult projects. Masks will be required for all participants. Moderated by Bits Bytes Code.  Cost is $200. Maximum 20 students.
• Singing with Sellwood: Available to students in Grades 2-5 on seven Tuesdays (2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22) from 3pm-4pm. All levels of singers and performers, beginner through experienced, will love this high energy program, jam-packed with fun, song, and dance. The course will span musical theatre, pop, hip hop, rock, movie music, and more; young artists will have a blast exploring and expanding their abilities. Includes games and musical enrichment. Moderated by instructors from Sellwood Studios. Cost is $200.  Maximum 15 students. 

For the Winter sessions, we are requesting parents' help chaperoning on one or more of the dates your child is participating.  Volunteer must be Virtus trained and vaccinated for COVID-19.
