School Community COVID Notification

January 11, 2021

Dear Parents,

This notification is to advise you that an additional five individuals in our school community have tested positive for COVID-19. We have coordinated closely with the Madison Health Department to identify any potential close contacts of these individuals so that we can identify those who need to quarantine. Cleaning and disinfecting of all exposed areas have been done. The individuals are isolating and any identified close contacts will not be present in school until they meet the NJDOH criteria for return.

All close contacts and classes involved have been notified. So if you have not already been contacted, please just be on the alert for COVID symptoms in your children and family.

As the weather is changing and more activities will have to go indoors, we encourage parents and students to continue following the safe practices listed below:

  • Staying home when you are sick
  • Washing hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds often
  • Covering coughs and sneezes and properly disposing of tissues
  • Limiting close contact with people who are sick
  • Not sharing food, drinks, and utensils
  • Practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet apart)
  • Wearing a face covering while in school
  • Avoiding putting your hands on your face

If you believe you were exposed to someone with COVID-19, please contact us and your local health department immediately and get PCR tested.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 and our school, please contact either Nurse Ellen or Sr. Noreen.

We thank you for your help and collaboration so that we can continue to keep our SVMS community healthy and safe. Let us keep each other in prayer.

                                                                                                                                    Sincerely,

Ellen Romain, School Nurse

Sr. Noreen Holly, Principal
