News From The Nurse

August 19, 2020

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are doing well and that everyone is having a great summer!

I am writing to you today to let you know that there is guidance for your reference in the e-Newsletter this weekend that will assist you in determining when your child will need to stay home if they become sick, whether they become ill with COVID-19 or any other illness.  This guidance will also let you know when your child can return to in-person learning.  Other guidance and helpful tips will be available for you regarding this school year in reference to COVID-19 and other illnesses on our school website as well.  I have created these protocols based on the recommendations from the CDC, the New Jersey Department of Health and from the Diocese of Patterson.  Sr. Noreen has reviewed these documents and has approved them.

Please know that all of these guidelines are in place to help maintain the health and well-being of all the students, faculty and staff at SVMS.  While we cannot completely prevent COVID-19 from entering our doors due to the fact that the virus has been widespread in our country over the last several months and the fact that it presents differently in different people and it might go undetected, we can help with the mitigation process by following the protocols that have been set forth.  We cannot do this without your help.  It will be a community effort to keep school open as long as possible and we will fully rely on your compliance with the guidelines that we have set in order to do this.

Please refer to some websites below for videos on helpful tips for handwashing, how to use hand sanitizer and how to show your children to put on and take off a face mask properly.

In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of the summer and stay healthy.  I look forward to seeing you and your children in September.

Best regards,

Renee Reilly, RN
