Subject line: I'm sleeping on the street for one night.

Dear friend,

This past summer I was blessed to be able to make the Camino in Spain. Each day we would walk for several miles knowing that at the end of the day there would be a place to stay providing a roof over our heads and a good hot meal.

Sadly, there are youth in our area making their way through life who at the end of their day have no place to call home, no roof over their head, no table to sit down to a hot meal. They are the reason why on Thursday, November 21, I’m sleeping on the street in Newark, New Jersey so homeless kids don't have to.

I am so proud to be part of this effort for the fourth time. I am so inspired by the men and women I have met who truly care about the 4.2 million kids who will face homelessness in America this year and by you who have so generously supported me in this effort each year. Together let us do our small part to help by being part of the Covenant House Sleep Out movement.

As part of my Sleep Out, I'm raising funds and awareness for Covenant House - an organization that provides shelter, safety, and support to nearly 2,000 kids each night across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. On November 21, I'll spend a night getting to know some of the kids who live at Covenant House in Newark and learning about the strides they're making to move from homelessness to independence. Around midnight, after the residents go to sleep in their beds at the shelter, the other participants and I will head outside with nothing but a cardboard box and a sleeping bag.

We’re sleeping outside for one night so homeless kids don’t have to. Would you please consider helping me once again to reach my fundraising goal by making a donation on my page: https://www.sleepout.org/participant/23686

God Bless You and Thank You - (Fr.) George
