School Health News

Dear SVMS Parents, As you probably are aware, we have had a number of children out with the flu, strep throat, and just a virus that manifests itself in the form of a low grade temperature, and headache. Fortunately, this flu is the H1N1 strain and it is a very mild form of the influenza flu. I have noticed that the children are not as sick as they were last year, because the strain last year was much more virulent and the vaccine was not that effective. We will have the classrooms thoroughly clean and disinfected during our break, and hopefully we will limit our exposure to further incidences of illness.

For all the pre k parents, I once again implore you to have your child receive the flu vaccine. The last day of compliance for the school is December 31, 2018. After that our school will be out of compliance and perhaps be subject to a fine.

Thank you for all you do and your constant willingness to help me with any concerns I have. It is such an honor and joy for you to allow me to assist with your childrens health and wellbeing, and I hope that you know if you have qny questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me at anytime.

Best Wishes for a wonderful Christmas and Healthy New Year.
