Important Information About Vaccinations for Kindergarteners
July 29, 2020
To the Parents of all Kindergarten Students,
I hope you are all doing well and that you are having a great summer!
This is just a quick reminder that all Kindergarten students are required to have their vaccinations up-to-date for entrance into school. The vaccine update that is required prior to entering kindergarten is the MMR vaccine. Please check with your child’s pediatrician to make sure your child is up-to-date on all of their vaccinations as soon as you can. In addition, please provide a copy of their vaccination record along with a Universal Child Health Record from your child’s pediatrician’s office prior to the start of school.
The Universal Child Health Record can be found on the school website under the Parent tab. In the drop-down menu choose “Nurse” and look for the appropriate forms. Please read the letter that is in the Nurse drop-down menu prior to going to your child’s pediatrician’s office to be sure you have all the forms you will need. The medical forms and vaccination record can be left in the mailbox outside of school by the main entrance doors. Once that external mailbox is emptied, Bridget or Mary will place them in my mailbox. Please know that visitors are restricted at this time, so you will not be able to enter the school. You can also scan and email them to me if that is better for you.
I understand that some pediatricians are still seeing patients on a limited basis, but if you can at least schedule your child for a visit for the administration of the MMR vaccine, that would be best. That is just a nurse visit at most places. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me at my contact information below. At this time email works best for me rather than a voicemail message, as I am not often in the office at this point in time due to the restrictions on visitors at school.
