Please review information about SVMS Athletics policies below, including our Code of Conduct and Grievance Process.
Code of Conduct
A student-athlete, parent/guardian, coach, &/or spectator is to conduct himself/herself in a manner that honors the sport and Saint Vincent Martyr School (SVMS), and demonstrates respect to all players, coaches, officials, and spectators. The essential elements in this “Code of Conduct” are honesty and integrity. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these elements will bring credit to the school, the team and themselves. If you plan on participating in any sports program and/or attending any SVMS sporting event for the 2016-2017 school year, please read the attached link, print out, sign the bottom, detach it and return to Miss Amy Nauta ASAP.
SVMS has a grievance process in place to provide players, parents and/or coaches a forum to have their complaints heard and acted upon if necessary. All grievances are to be submitted to Amy Nauta, SVMS Athletic Director. If a person(s) has a grievance, they are to submit their complaints in writing directly to the Athletic Director within seven days of the event. The complaint will be reviewed and an appropriate investigation will be conducted. If necessary, Sr. Noreen, SVMS principal, will be contacted about how the incident should be handled after consideration of all the facts. People submitting a grievance may remain anonymous but are required to put their complaint in writing. This complaint will remain on file for historical records. The decision is the final decision in all cases.
