SVMS has a comprehensive curricula designed to meet the needs of our students who range from three year olds to sixth graders. In addition to our core courses of Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Physical Education, and Religion, SVMS has a number of enrichment classes. These include Spanish instruction (K-6), music (class as well as private instruction), art and computers.

THREE YEAR OLD PROGRAMS

  • The child must be three years old by October 1st
  • Choice of three half-day programs
  • Staffing: One certified teacher and one aide in each class
  • Class size: 15*

Pre-K3A

  • Two-half days per week: Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 – 11:15 a.m.

Pre-K 3B

  • Three half-days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 – 11:15 a.m.

Pre-K 3C

  • Three half-days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:00 noon – 2:40 p.m.

FOUR YEAR OLD PROGRAMS

The child must be four years old by October 1st.

Choice of three programs:

  • Pre-K4A and B: Five mornings per week, 8:30 – 11:15 a.m
  • Pre-K4C: Four afternoons per week, 12 noon – 2:40 p.m.

Staffing: One certified teacher and one aide in each class

Children in the four-year-old programs also study the computer with a teacher other than his/her homeroom teacher

Class Size: 18*

KINDERGARTEN CURRICULA

The child must be five years old by October 1st.

The child must also have had two years of pre-school.

There are two full day kindergarten programs. Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

Staffing: One certified teacher and one aide in each class.

Kindergarten children also participate in special subjects with teachers other than their regular homeroom teacher. These subjects are: art, music, library, physical education, and Spanish.

Class Size: 18*

PRIMARY GRADES: GRADES 1,2,3 

There are two sections of each grade.

Each grade is a full day program, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

Staffing: One certified teacher and teacher specialists in art, music, library, computer, physical education and Spanish. One aide (full or part time) is supplied when the class size is twenty-two or more. (Teacher preference is also considered)

Class Size: 25*

INTERMEDIATE GRADES: GRADES 4,5,6 

There are two sections of each grade.

Each grade is a full day program, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

Staffing: Each grade operates on a departmental schedule with teacher specialists in art, music, library, computer, physical education, and Spanish.

Class Size = 25*

Sports
School Colors: Royal Blue & Gold
School Mascot: Eagle

Through the efforts and dedication of volunteer parent coaches and the Home and School Association, these programs are offered fro students in Kindergarten though Grade 6.

Grades K-3 (Pee Wee Basketball Program)
Intramural basketball clinics are offered. Adjustable basketball hoops for these children help them develop proper skills and techniques.

Grades 4-6
Interscholastic basketball and cheerleading are available to students. Teams play against area parochial schools.

Other Activities
Approximately every 8 weeks SVMS joins with the staff at the Madison Area YMCA and offers a variety of different sports geared toward Grades K-3. Activities such as golf, lacrosse, street hockey and flag football are just a few are the students favorites. In an effort to complete community service hours, our 5th and 6th grade students mentor Grades k-3 in these sports activities.

School lunch
Dowling Food Services provides our children with the highest quality food available, while providing it at a reasonable price. Five days a week, all students in grades K through 6th can order a hot lunch, nutritious snack, or just milk.

*The Pastor and Principal reserve the right to extend the class size if needed.
