St. Vincent Martyr School seeks students from varied economic, racial, and religious backgrounds who are intellectually curious, serious about learning, self-motivated, and disciplined. Admissions decisions are made without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin.

The admission process includes:

Initial Visit by Parents:

Parents tour the school and learn about SVMS’s philosophy, curriculum and meet the teachers and Principal. Individual tours, as well as Open Houses, are available.

Application: For every grade, pre-school through grade 6, a non-refundable registration fee of $100 is required at time of registration. The fee is paid once each year, regardless of how many children in a family are registered.

For all pre-school classes, kindergarten, and first grade, an additional $300 per child is required at the time of registration. This $300 will be applied to the child’s tuition for the coming year. It is non-refundable should the parent decide not to send the child to St. Vincent Martyr School.

Once an application is received, Mary Brooks, Director of Admissions, call parents to schedule appropriate appointments. To this pre-arranged appointment, parents are asked to bring:

    1. Student’s birth certificate
    2. Student’s baptismal certificate
    3. Certification of any other Sacrament the child may have received
    4. Official transfer from the school the child is leaving
    5. Academic record from the school the child is leaving (This must include the current report card and most recent test scores)
    6. Health records from previous school
    7. Student’s immunization record
    8. A letter of recommendation from the Principal or most recent Grade Teacher at the school the child is leaving

Those registering for Kindergarten through Grade 6 must make an appointment to meet with the Principal at the time of applying.

All children entering Grades 1 through 6 must take an admissions test in reading and math.

Acceptance into St. Vincent Marty School will be determined by both the receipt of all of the above and also by the results of the child’s testing as indicated above. All paper work must be completely filled in and submitted in a timely manner.

TRANSFER POLICY

Parents are asked to notify the school principal in advance of the date of transfer. The following information must be submitted in written form at that time:

    1. Name and grade of child
    2. Reason for transfer
    3. Address of new school
    4. Last date the child will attend St. Vincent Martyr School

The parent will then be asked to sign a release of information form so that the child’s transcript may be sent. Once this has been done, the school secretary will mail out the transfer, transcript of scholastic records, standardized test results, and health records providing that all textbooks and library books have been returned and all bills are paid to date.

TRI-COUNTY SCHOLARSHIPS

Tri-County Scholarships are offered to families who qualify. Applications may be obtained through the school’s front office during March of each year. The cost of sending an application is $14 non-refundable. A copy of the parents W-2 form and a copy of the previous year’s Federal Income Tax Return (1040) must also be submitted. All of this goes directly to the following:

Private School Aid Service
