Religion
In Grade 2, we focus on the two Sacraments – First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  Both are parish sacraments and St. Vincent Martyr Christian Formation program handles some of the preparation.  However, the focus of our Religion program in Grade 2 is on Reconciliation and Eucharist and the students are very well prepared to receive them. 

Reading/Language Arts

Mathematics
In Grade 2 we continue to reinforce addition and subtraction. 

Science
Grade 2 Science focuses on Life Science which includes the study of plants, animals, and fossils. Physical Science covers the study of matter, sound, heat, light, force, magnets, and electricity, while in Earth Science we study weather, seasons, and the solar system.  In addition, we study the Human Body which includes nutrition and how to keep healthy. 

Social Studies

There are two sections of each grade.

Each grade is a full day program, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.

Staffing: One certified teacher in each class. One aide (full- or part-time) is supplied when the class size is twenty-two or more.

Teacher specialists in art, music, library, computer, physical education and Spanish.

Class Size: 25*

*The Pastor and Principal reserve the right to extend the class size if needed.
